As per annual tradition, Belgium’s National Day will be celebrated in Bruges with musical entertainment on the Market Square—this time with the Bavik Dagen Brugge.

Unlike previous years, the event will no longer last three days but will span only two.

On the opening night, Bruges Swan Patrol, Laura Tesoro, and Stan Van Samang will perform. On the second evening, Edja Ska and the Pilchards will take the stage, followed by the immensely popular mass sing-along event “Brugge Zingt,” conducted by Nick Blontrock.

The Bavik Dagen Brugge will take place this year on Sunday, July 20, 2025 (from 6:30 PM) and Monday, July 21, 2025 (also from 6:30 PM). All performances are free of charge. Between concerts, several DJs will keep the energy going.

Just like last year, lyrics will be interpreted in sign language by translators. For the organizing committee, inclusivity is key. A designated area in front of the stage will also be reserved for wheelchair users.

Once again, everyone will be able to download the songbook for the third day of the festival—Brugge Zingt—just before the event. This can be done via the website bavikdagen.be. Additionally, two giant screens will be set up on the Market Square to project song lyrics. No more piles of disposable pamphlets, which often end up as waste—better for the environment and more convenient for our volunteers. Want to have the lyrics on hand? The website is the perfect alternative!

The concept of “Brugge Zingt” remains unchanged: thousands of Bruges locals singing and dancing together with a choir of dozens of enthusiastic performers on stage!

Oh, and of course, Benny Scott has once again confirmed his appearance to perform Bruges’ beloved folk song live on the Market Square! This will take place on July 21 during Brugge Zingt—you are more than welcome to sing along loudly to “’k En Brugge in m’n erte” with Benny.
